"Perfect Cosplay"

It's been a while and here is my topic for today....

"PERFECT COSPLAY"

What is it really?

Based on my observation it is........

* A pretty/moe/chinita/petite girl wearing a costume even though the color of the wig and costume are not right/doesn't have the slightest clue of what they are cosplaying but as long as they have "THE FACE" and "THE BODY" therefore they are "PERFECT COSPLAYERS"

* A pretty/moe/chinita/petite girl wearing a revealing costume even though she doesn't know what she is cosplaying and just doing it for the sake of being swarmed by photographers and pervs.

* A pretty/moe/chinita/petite girl cosplaying out of character but as long as they have "THE FACE" and "THE BODY" therefore they are "PERFECT COSPLAYERS"

* A person wearing armor or holding a HUGE weapon and also wearing revealing costumes.

* Having tons of groupies/fans

Sorry but those things.... are crap XD

The word COSPLAY/COSTUME PLAY describes what a "PERFECT COSPLAY" should be

*Costume Accuracy

*Props Accuracy

*Portrayal Accuracy

*Eyes

*Make-up

*Behavior

*Attitude

The things in the "CURRENT" cosplay community? Oh please...

It's MODELING NOT COSPLAY :))))))

*Cosplay is a hobby. Don't make it a profession XD

*Cosplay is expensive so save up if you really want to cosplay to do all necessary details and spending :D

*Cosplay Community is a big Family, don't treat it as a place for your fan club or follower getting shizz nor is a place for a competition of "I'm better than every *statethenameofcharacterhere* cosplayer out there. XD

*NEVER WEAR A COSTUME WITHOUT KNOWING THE CHARACTER 101% 

*NEVER USE COSPLAY FOR POPULARITY

*If You really love cosplay and your character, you choose them well.. not half-assed. You choose them not because "THE COSTUME IS COOL" or "THE WEAPON IS AWESOME".

Make sure you can do them physically and can also BE THEM by attitude and behavior better yet KNOW THEM INSIDE AND OUT.

New year + cosplans + etc.

Such a late note but yeah better late than never!!

I have tons of New Year's resolutions :3
- dieting lol XD
- studying how to do more complicated props and armor
- study sewing by machine
- PHOTOGRAPHY~~~
- Photo editing~~
- Drawing
- Enhancing my writing skills (yeah I make stories :D)

I really wish that I could do at least four things that I listed here =/

Cosplans

I really want to do a character in Tsubasa chronicles... Yup and that character is.....

Yup her!! I want to keep her name a secret.. but if you guys know this character... shhh XDD

Yeah I want to do more characters that really have complicated details in their costumes and props and rarely cosplayed ^^

I would want to share more but I'm kinda greedy with sharing plans that I really really really want to do because I want to surprise my friends :333

Tomorrow is back to school day haha *dies*

Yup I'm kinda lazy when it comes to school but I'm trying my best to accomplish my school work..
I really want to graduate already :D
I want to work and earn by myself and also so that I could stand up on my own in the future...

But yeah 1 year after my grad, I'll enter photography ^_^
I really want to learn... :D

I don't want to always be on cam during shoots, I want to be behind-cam too~ :3


That's all...
I might not be able to update again soon since school days are here again.. ^^;;;;;
sleepless nights again haha

but at least this will be my last year already ^__^

Conventions held in malls and the guards

(NOTE THIS IS BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE ONLY :))) )

I don't think that I'm the only one that thinks of this.. but don't you think guards in malls are already over reacting? And also aren't malls being so unreasonable lately too? Like they do everything to make conventions sooo inconvenient for cosplayers. I do not disturb the peace in malls or anything. I am also disciplined and I know etiquettes during cons lol. I've been cosplaying for 6 years hahaha I think I already know what I'm doing. And my point in this is I want to share my experience in the changes of the cons before and now.


I know that I am not the only one getting these lines:


"Cosplayers are not allowed in the CR, get out"
- I don't understand why guards do not allow the cosplayers in the cr even when doing their make-up. Sure they gave an area for cosplayers to change but how about the make-up? we need mirrors. Please it is not like we were blocking the way and not letting the other customers move.



"Cosplayers are not allowed here, they disturb the mall's customers"
This is the rudest thing that I heard and not only once but many times already. Cosplayers are also customers in the malls! So if you encounter this tell the guard "FYI we are TOO customers of this mall so you have no right to tell that to me."
If you're an owner of a mall and you tell your staff/guards to tell this to a cosplayer who buys from the mall, do not hold a con there. A lot of cosplayers eat there for sure then you treat them as nobodies. tsk tsk.


"Do not sit on the floor"
For me this can be tolerated, but I just hope that guards would be considerate to understand that we've been
walking or standing for hours and a little rest wouldn't hurt. Plus there are a lot who wear shoes, which after a few hours would definitely hurt. I don't understand why guards wouldn't allow it for even 15 minutes.


I hope they change their rules because it is not that good at all..
I was starting to hate SMX Mall of Asia but now Im starting to hate SM megamall too.

I guess people are wondering who I am... I'm Kei, just an ordinary cosplayer who simply just wants to have many friends within the cosplay community.

I started cosplaying year 2006 but i never exposed myself because I'm not aiming for fame in cosplay.

I just really want to have fun with my hobby.

Cosplay is ART

Someone actually sent me a private message in Facebook about this.

"Kei-san for you what is cosplay? Is it art?"


My Answer:
Well for me it's an art. An art wherein you can express yourself. Sure you might say that cosplay is cosplay... it's just wearing costumes and acting out. but for me there is something more in it than what spectators see.
For me Cosplay is indeed an art... but it's an art where in people, despite doing similar characters can still be different. Because of course, we have our own style make-up, own style of designing our costumes, our own way of acting out the character and many more.
For me Cosplayers are like painters and their costumes, make-up wig and props are the paint that give the canvass life, color and style. But of course they are not the same... same as paintings there are differences. Like one can be realism, one can be abstract etc. 
It all depends on the cosplayer's style and what he/she would want to express.


Well this is based on my opinion only. And this is actually what I think of cosplay.
